They grow up so fast, don’t they? Seems like only yesterday he was mixing his first Panchero’s burrito.

Bob is a pretty special guy at Panchero’s. He is that little tool responsible for making sure you have every ingredient in every bite! So what I want to know is, how are you going to wish Bob a Happy 2nd Birthday?!

Will you sing him Happy Birthday?

Will you make Bob a Birthday card? (he’s turning two, remember)

Maybe you want to stand on the table in the break room at work and scream “HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB!!”

It’s up to you. But whatever you choose to do, we want to hear about it!

This contest is all about sharing, even the prizes! (no you don’t have to share your prizes) If your entry is voted as the winner you will be taking home a DVD player and at LEAST a week (7) worth of free burritos. Why do I say at least? Because for every three entries submitted for this contest, I will throw in another day (1) of free burritos. So, the size of the prize is really up to you guys!

Here is how to enter:

It’s easy, just make a video, snap a picture or write a post. Then tell me about it! There are numerous ways to tell me; Pancheros is on Facebook, Twitter and we have our own Blog (it’s what  you’re reading right now). Once you have created your happy birthday masterpiece just tell me where to find it! Upload a twitpic or a twitvid, put a video on YouTube and send me the link! Post photos and videos to my Facebook fan wall.

Any way you can think of to tell me about your masterpiece, I’m all ears…..and eyes.

Bonus point

You can submit more than once! Is your spirit just too much to contain in a single song?! Is a birthday card just not enough for you? I can respect that. Provided that your submissions are a different format (picture,video,text…etc) I will accept as many as you will give me.

So, here is all the dirty details

I will be accepting entries from March 1 – March 19 (5:00cst)

The panchero’s employees will vote on what we consider to be the top 5 entries.

Those entries will be posted online and you guys will have the chance to vote and decide who is taking home the DVD player and burrito cards.

Voting will take place March 22 – March 31 (5:00cst)

The winner will be announced on Bob’s Birthday, April 1st!

A mouth full of rice. A mouth full of beans. Sour cream in your lap. It’s not a pleasant experience. 

“Every Bite Counts” is a motto that we at Panchero’s hold near and dear. Burritos are great because you can choose a handful of things that you enjoy, things that taste great together, and wrap them up in a tortilla to enjoy them all at once. Shouldn’t you get to taste all those delicious ingredients every time you take a bite? We think so.

You’ll notice that we do a few things differently. Each burrito, quesadilla, and taco starts with a fresh-pressed tortilla; that makes a big difference when it comes time to roll up a burrito. Before we roll it, though, you can get your burrito “Bobbed” with Bob the Tool (he’s the little spatula tool that hangs out at the end of the line by the register). Just say “Bob my burrito” and watch as every ingredient you’ve picked is mixed together, making sure you’ll get every ingredient in every bite. Then it’s time to roll: we roll our burritos longer than most so that they’re narrower and easier to bite into. That fresh-pressed tortilla I mentioned earlier: it’s hot off the grill and seals on itself as it rolls; that means no sour cream is going to find its way through an open spot and into your lap. If you have visited the Panchero’s website recently you might have noticed a change to the homepage.

Panchero’s is now offering online ordering from the website! (but only to select stores in Iowa right now) We are still experimenting with some of the logistics, so we appreciate the patience while we work to expand into other areas with this feature. I am going to give a quick rundown of how to place an online order in case anyone is curious how this whole process works. Don’t be shy, go try it out for yourself!

Step Two: Tell us where you want to pick it up

Step Three: Sign in or create an account to save your address and billing info!

Also, signing in will allow you to save previous burrito orders for the next time you want a burrito in a hurry!

Step Four: Choose the takeout or catering menu and start customizing your burrito! Attach a note to your order for more specific directions about how to properly care for your burrito.

Best part of the online ordering? No more waiting in line. Print the receipt number that is e-mailed to you (or show it on your phone) and present the number to the person at the register for an all access pass to instant burrito goodness! Your burrito will be waiting for you hot and fresh. Enjoy it to go or in the store!

Some of you may have noticed people proclaiming themselves as “Mayor” on Twitter and Facebook. Then you think to yourself, “I don’t remember voting for any of these people!?” No need to write a letter to your senators, everything is okay. It’s actually an up and coming social media platform called Foursquare who is responsible for all this Mayor talk recently.

Foursquare recently opened it’s virtual doors to all cities, allowing people to take advantage of their new services. My friends over at Lavarow do an amazing job explaining common uses of Foursquare if you need some insight!

But what does this have to do with Panchero’s you ask? Being a loyal patron of a coffee shop, restaurant or bar has always been a point of personal pride. But now, you can broadcast that loyalty to the world and compete with other loyal patrons! If you have the most checkins at a location you are dubbed the official Mayor of that location and inevitably receive burrito bragging rights until someone comes along and ousts you from your seat of power.

So, get out there and proclaim your status as the Panchero’s Mayor of your city!
